Step 1 - Choose your support core
A DIY (do-it-yourself) mattress core is the central support structure of your mattress. Choose from HD, HR or Latex that are known for their durability and support. You will stack softer layers over the core to provide additional comfort and pressure relief. The thickness and density of the foam mattress core can vary, and different types of foam can be used to achieve different levels of firmness and support. Foam / Latex mattress cores are popular because they are lightweight, easy to move, and can conform to the shape of the body for customized support.
We offer 2", 3", 4" or 6" mattress cores in 2lb HD foam (high density), 2.75lb HR foam (high resilience) or Organic dunlop latex. If you want to learn more about do it yourself mattresses The Mattress Underground forum also has a thread on the DIY mattress subject.
