A good night’s sleep is one of the most important factors in maintaining our quality of health. We spend more time in bed than anywhere else; literally one third of our lives. So a well made bed should be a wonderful place.

For decades at St. Genève, we have had an ongoing love affair for making the most exquisite duvets and pillows in the world. We want everyone to experience the feeling of superb quality, because the difference will delight you. Our devotion to quality is important because you will use your duvet eight hours every night for twenty to thirty years or more.

Where does this passion come from? Our founder, Michael de la Place, started his career creating designs for duvets and pillows over 50 years ago. His flair for textiles was inspired by his grandmother Daisy who worked in Paris in the 1920’s researching fashion trends.

All this experience and dedication to quality has resulted in a collection that is found in luxury homes all over the world – all of this from our atelier in Richmond, BC, Canada.

We subscribe to the notion that it’s better to invest in high quality and have it last for decades, than to keep replacing mediocre goods. In the long run you spend more on replacements, and you have to live with low quality. Life is too short. There is a wonderful Scandinavian tradition that we love. Many years ago, when a woman married, the gift from her parents would be a down duvet and pillows made on the family farm. A coin was sewn into the duvet to wish the couple good luck in their new life. St. Genève still sews in a coin in the spirit of good wishes for our patrons. Welcome to our world.
