ALL NATURAL COTTON FUTON WITH VIRGIN WOOL WRAP

This Natural Cotton futon mattress is made with 10 layers of 100% unbleached Natural cotton, wrapped in virgin wool for a firm support. Virgin Wool is used as a natural flame retardant. All cotton mattresses will compact over time and require more frequent turning, flipping and rolling to ensure even wear. They are at their softest level new and will get progressively firmer over time. Classic old-school firm support of the original Japanese futon.

Important Notes on All-Cotton Mattresses

• Finished thickness is about 2–3″ less than the layer count (e.g., a 10-layer Queen finishes around 7–8″ thick).
• Out of the package, length and width may be 1–4″ under standard size.
• They’ll expand naturally with regular use or by stretching/pounding.
• Cotton batting is a natural material, the exact final dimensions can’t be guaranteed.
• Older futon mattresses often used foam for structure; pure cotton can’t fully replace foam’s support.
• All-cotton mattresses aren’t suitable for sofa beds or seating positions because they don’t hold their shape upright.
• Raw cotton batting may have a faint earthy scent. Most people won’t notice it, but those sensitive to smells might.
• Mattresses start very soft and become firmer over time as the cotton compresses.
• Cotton layers will eventually shift and form lumps. Regular turning, flipping, pounding, and rolling will help reduce them, but not eliminate these lumps.
