Shopping around to buy a natural mattress protector in Canada? This unique St-Dormeir wool mattress protector, has been specially milled by a chemical-free European process to make it completely machine washable without shrinking.
Standard wool covers can only be dry cleaned, or hand washed. St Dormeir mattress covers have all the convenience of polyester fills, with all the advantages of natural virgin wool. The wool quilted in the cotton cover, regulates body temperature and humidity (keeping you cool in the summer, and cozy in the winter) while preventing the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. These qualities are essential in helping you fall asleep faster and also stay asleep longer.
The St Dormeir mattress protector is made with 100% Chemical free cotton terry. This cotton is woven in a jersey knit and is used as the skirt that goes around the sides of the protector. It has an elastic band around the bottom edge for a secure fit.
Fact: Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without you ever noticing!

New washing instructions are as follows:
-
Machine wash: Your St. Dormeir protector must be washed in a cycle with low agitation, high spin, warm water only. Wash only in a front loading machine or a top loading machine without an agitator. Check your washer's manual for a short cycle with less agitation, and a high spin
-
Wash a full load Fill the washing machine to the maximum with St. Dormeir products. If needed, add towels to achieve a full load.
-
Use an Enzyme-Free Detergent Use an enzyme-free detergent like Woolite Baby or Kookaburra Wash.
-
Hang to dry Dormeir protectors generally dry overnight, and this is the best way to protect them. Drape over a shower rod, a door top, or even across a couple of kitchen chairs.
-
Dry clean Dry cleaning works well on St. Dormeir products and will ensure their fit and function for years to come. Please note, that the original label states 'do not dry clean' - but a recent update to the product makes them safe to dry clean.
*MADE TO FIT: After laundering, you will find your St. Dormeir protector will appear to have shrunk a little. Protectors are made slightly oversize, and will fit perfectly after the first wash. When you put the protector back on your mattress, it stretches easily to fit.
Please note the Dormeir mattress protectors cannot be put in a dryer as it will shrink.
