Summer Fill
Made for St Genève in China, the home of fine silks

St Genève silk duvets are filled with hand-layered tussah silk because it maintains its form, structure and loft better than Mulberry silk, which is too soft and limp as a duvet filling. Renowned for its form, structure, and loft, it drapes softly around the body for a relaxing, hug-like experience. They provide exceptional breathability in warm weather as well as insulation in cooler weather. Making them a wonderful choice for summer months and warmer bedrooms. This beautiful silk duvet is a great alternative to down filled duvets. Silk is a soft and luxurious material that drapes well and is much stronger than any other textile fibre.

Cool: Silk is wonderful on warm nights, as it can absorb up to a third of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. It is a cool feeling fibre, and a great choice for summer months and warmer bedrooms. Silk will feel a bit heavier than a down or wool filled duvet. It nestles closely around the body providing a reassuring and evenly distributed weight.

Handmade: Our silk duvets are made in China, the world leader in silk production. The duvets are unique by being carefully hand layered with many thin layers of silk floss. This layering is what makes a St. Genève silk duvet so fine, yet so comfortable.

New Cover: We've upgraded our quality silk duvet with a luxe new cover: the hand-layered tussah silk filling is now enveloped in a silky-soft 300 thread count lyocell outer shell. Lyocell is smooth, lightweight and supple. It is 50% more breathable than cotton and pairs beautifully with the natural silk fill.

Care

  • Air outdoors for a few hours two or three times a year. Never leave in direct sunlight.
  • Hand spot wash in lukewarm water. Use a mild non-alkaline soap such as baby shampoo or Ivory liquid. Do not soak.
  • Roll in a towel to extract water. Do not wring.
  • Do not wash.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Avoid any contact with peroxide or perfume.
  • The duvet has been labelled as “do not dry clean”. Recent testing has shown that gentle dry cleaning may be used sparingly.
  • Dry cleaning is only recommended if your duvet has become soiled, as it can make the silk feel less supple. It is best to maintain your duvet with airing and spot cleaning.
