Responsive Comfort, Smarter Construction
Modular
Individual latex layers can be accessed, rearranged, or replaced rather than permanently bonded together. This gives you more flexibility to fine-tune your comfort and replace individual components instead of the entire mattress.
Healthy
Made with 100% latex and thoughtfully selected natural materials, without polyurethane foam. Breathable latex and straightforward construction create a cleaner, more comfortable sleep environment built for long-term use.
Responsive
Talalay latex has a buoyant, responsive feel that gently cushions the body while making it easy to move and change positions. It delivers excellent pressure relief without feeling deeply enveloping.

Two Latex Types, One Balanced Feel
The Presto Talalay pairs a 3-inch Talalay comfort layer with 7 inches of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex, built from 2-inch, 2-inch and 3-inch support layers. The thicker Talalay layer provides a buoyant, pressure-relieving surface, while the denser Dunlop below creates a progressively supportive foundation. Combining the two latex types allows the mattress to contour more easily at the surface while maintaining the durable, responsive support latex is known for.
Choose between Classic Talalay for a softer, more cushioning feel or Natural Talalay for a slightly firmer, more supportive response.

Designed to Be Adjustable
A top-zippered cover provides easy access to the Talalay and Dunlop layers inside, making it possible to adjust or replace individual components over time. This modular construction allows the mattress to evolve with your comfort needs while also making it possible to choose the type of Talalay that best suits your preferred feel. Choose between our quilted Cotton & Wool cover or smooth, washable Tencel cover.

Your Perfect Mattress is Only 3 Steps Away
1. Choose Your Firmness
The Presto Talalay combines a Talalay comfort layer with organic Dunlop support layers to create three distinct firmness options. Both the type of Talalay and the support configuration below contribute to the final feel, allowing you to choose from Plush, Medium or Medium-Firm comfort.

Plush
Classic Talalay Comfort
Our softest Presto Talalay configuration uses Classic Talalay for a more cushioning, pressure-relieving surface. Its softer and more buoyant feel allows greater contouring around the shoulders and hips while the organic Dunlop layers below provide stable support. Best suited to side sleepers, lighter sleepers and those who prefer a softer, more conforming mattress.

Medium
Natural Talalay Comfort
Natural Talalay creates a slightly firmer and more supportive surface while retaining the buoyancy and pressure relief Talalay is known for. Paired with the organic Dunlop support layers below, it provides a balanced combination of contouring and underlying support. Best suited to side sleepers, side and back combination sleepers, and those looking for a balanced latex feel.

Medium-Firm
Natural Talalay Support
Our most supportive Presto Talalay configuration combines Natural Talalay with a firmer Dunlop support arrangement below. The Talalay surface still provides cushioning and pressure relief, but with stronger underlying resistance and less overall sink. Best suited to back sleepers, combination sleepers and those who prefer a more supportive feel without giving up the buoyant comfort of Talalay.
2. Choose Your Cover
Your mattress cover does more than finish the mattress. Choose Cotton & Wool for a naturally quilted surface with added cushioning, or Tencel for a smoother, washable sleep surface that provides a more direct feel of the latex below.

Cotton & Wool Cover
Natural, Quilted Comfort
Organic cotton creates a soft, breathable sleep surface, while wool naturally helps regulate temperature and manage moisture throughout the night. The quilted construction adds a subtle layer of cushioning without taking away from the responsive feel of the latex below. Wool also acts as a natural fire barrier, allowing the mattress to meet Canadian flammability requirements without chemical fire retardants. Sturdy side handles make positioning and rotating the mattress easier.

Tencel Cover
Breathable, Washable & Wool-Free
Tencel creates a soft, smooth sleep surface that is breathable and effective at managing moisture throughout the night. Its flatter, non-quilted construction provides a more direct connection to the latex below, allowing you to experience more of its responsive feel and pressure relief. The removable top panel is washable, and the cover meets Canadian flammability requirements without the need for an additional fire barrier or added chemical fire retardants.
3. Adjust to Fit
Your initial firmness is just the starting point. The top-zippered design allows you to rearrange the latex layers at home to fine-tune the balance of comfort and support. If rearranging the layers is not enough, our Make Right Layer Exchange Program lets you exchange an individual layer to further adjust the feel without replacing the entire mattress.

Did you know?
If a latex layer wears out prematurely, gets damaged accidentally, or if your firmness preferences change, you can simply replace it at a 25% discount. This avoids the hassle and cost of replacing the entire mattress—resulting in less waste for our environment and more money in your pocket!

FAQ
Have questions about latex mattresses? Explore straightforward answers about materials, construction, firmness, care, and choosing the right mattress for you.
What is the difference between Dunlop and Talalay latex?
Dunlop and Talalay are two different methods of manufacturing latex foam. Both can produce high-quality, durable latex for mattresses, but they generally have different feels.
Dunlop latex is denser, firmer and more supportive. It has a more grounded feel with less bounce, making it particularly well suited to support and transition layers.
Talalay latex has a lighter, more responsive feel. It compresses more easily and has more bounce, which is why it is commonly used in comfort layers and mattresses designed for greater pressure relief.
The manufacturing process isn't the only factor that affects how latex feels. Natural rubber content is equally important. For example, blended Talalay made with natural and synthetic rubber is generally softer than 100% natural Talalay. A soft blended Dunlop can also feel softer than a firmer 100% natural Talalay.
Neither process is inherently better. The right choice depends on the feel, firmness and support you're looking for.
What is the difference between Natural and Synthetic rubber?
Natural and synthetic latex can both be used to make durable, responsive mattress foam, but they differ in where the rubber comes from and how the finished latex feels.
Natural latex is made from natural rubber harvested from rubber trees. Synthetic latex is made from petrochemical-derived rubber, most commonly styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). Many latex products use a blend of natural and synthetic rubber rather than being entirely one or the other.
Natural rubber generally produces a denser, firmer and more supportive latex foam. Adding
synthetic rubber can create a softer, more yielding feel. This means natural content can affect mattress feel just as much as whether the latex is made using the Dunlop or Talalay process.
A higher natural content isn't automatically the right choice for every sleeper. The best option depends on your priorities for feel, support, natural materials and price.
Does latex have an odour?
Yes. Natural latex has a mild, distinctive rubber-like smell, especially when it is new. This is the natural scent of the latex itself and does not mean the mattress is off-gassing harmful chemicals.
Most people describe the smell as slightly sweet, rubbery or vanilla-like. It is generally most noticeable when a new mattress, topper or pillow is first unpacked and gradually becomes less noticeable with exposure to fresh air.
Because latex has its own natural scent, some smell may remain if you put your nose directly against the latex foam. However, once the latex is inside a mattress cover and bedding is added, most people don't notice it during normal use.
The strength of the scent can vary between different types and batches of latex. If you're particularly sensitive to smells, allowing the mattress to air out in a well-ventilated room before use can help.
What is the difference between a 100% Latex and Hybrid Latex Mattress?
A 100% latex mattress uses latex foam for both its comfort and support layers, while a hybrid latex mattress combines latex comfort layers with a pocket coil support system.
100% latex mattresses have a dense, supportive and highly responsive feel. Because the entire mattress is made from latex rather than springs, the feel can be more substantial and consistent from top to bottom. Their modular construction can also make it possible to adjust or replace individual latex layers in many designs.
Hybrid latex mattresses use a pocket coil base with typically 2 to 4 inches of latex above it. The coils create a more familiar mattress feel with additional bounce, airflow and strong edge support, while the latex provides pressure relief and keeps conventional polyurethane foam out of the comfort system.
Neither construction is inherently better. Choose 100% latex if you prioritize maximum latex content, durability and a substantial all-latex feel. Choose a hybrid if you prefer the buoyancy and edge support of pocket coils, a lighter mattress and a lower price point.
One important distinction: “100% latex mattress” describes the mattress construction. It does not necessarily mean the latex itself is 100% natural. Always check whether the latex is natural, synthetic or blended separately.
What fire retardants do you use?
All mattresses sold in Canada must meet federal mattress flammability requirements. The materials used in the mattress cover play an important role in meeting these requirements.
For our wool-covered mattresses, wool acts as the natural fire barrier. Wool is naturally resistant to ignition and is the only natural material we use that allows our mattress covers to meet the required flammability standard without an additional fire-retardant treatment.
A 100% cotton cover on its own will not pass Canadian mattress flammability requirements. A mattress using only cotton around the latex would therefore require an additional fire retardant or fire barrier to comply.
We also realize that some people may not like using animal byproducts or may want to lower the price a bit without sacrificing the mattress's overall quality. That's why we offer a second cover option that uses a combination of Tencel and synthetic fibres engineered to meet flammability requirements without applying an additional chemical fire-retardant treatment.
This is why we distinguish between a natural wool cover and a Tencel cover rather than claiming that every mattress can be made with a simple 100% cotton cover and no additional fire protection. We take safety seriously, and all our mattress covers have been tested by an independent third party to confirm they will pass all current Canadian Mattress Flammability guidelines.
What type of bed frame do I need?
The bed frame or foundation is an important part of a latex sleep system. Latex is flexible and heavy, so it needs a strong, evenly supported surface underneath it.
For MFC Latex Canada mattresses, the space between bed slats must be no more than 3 inches. Slat width must also be within 1/2 inch of the spacing between the slats. For example, if your slats are spaced 3 inches apart, they should be at least 2.5 inches wide.
The frame should be strong, stable and properly supported through the centre, particularly for Queen, King and other larger mattress sizes.
If your existing bed frame doesn't meet these requirements, you don't necessarily need to replace it. A coir mattress pad or coir bunkie board can be placed over the existing support system to bring nearly any suitable bed frame up to our warranty standard.
Unlike a traditional box spring, latex mattresses don't require a flexible foundation. A strong platform, properly spaced slats or a suitable frame combined with coir provides the firm, even support latex needs.
What is the warranty?
All mattresses come with a 10-year non-prorated warranty against permanent indentations. Comfort issues are handled through our Make It Right layer exchange program for the duration of the warranty period.

The Unison is a game changer. I'm sleeping better than ever! Mario recommended that I rotate the top two layers, so I did that today. Thank you for the great service.
Wish I'd bought one sooner! Just the right amount of support for a heavy sleeper. I used to wake up with itchy eyes and skin from sleeping on a regular, commercial mattress -- not anymore thanks to my organic latex mattress!! Thanks, Mario, for answering all my questions and your suggestions helped me to choose the perfect mattress for my needs.
I highly recommend the Unison organic latex mattress. It's comfortable, provides excellent support for our heavy set bodies, regulates temperature well, and is made with sustainable materials. I've experienced relief from morning back pain and improved sleep quality since using it. A great eco-friendly option!
After weeks of research on Mattress Underground, I am happy with my purchase of the Unison organic latex mattress. It is made from certified organic dunlop latex and the cover is wool quilted organic cotton. The cover fits the mattress perfectly and adds an extra layer of comfort, being soft and breathable. The mattress is also very comfortable and sleeps cool, which I really appreciate. I recommend it to anyone shopping for a quality latex mattress.
We recently ordered the mattress topper and also a twin extra long mattress Our adult son has multiple chemical sensitivity and we have purchased In the past what the company claimed to be organic only to find out after that it was not totally organic and therefore had to off gas and was unsuitable. Thank you for your honesty in selling such wonderful products that do not have to off gas and are top quality. The free shipping and no HST was a great bonus!!
Bought 2 mattresses. I am really impressed. Quality that was expected is all there. The packaging was excellent. The shipping super fast. I am strongly recommending Mario and his products. Buy Canadian - support the Canadian workers. The price is worth every single penny.
Hi there! I recently purchased a latex mattress and wanted to provide feedback that we are really pleased with it so far! It has helped our back pain tremendously and it has been wonderful to sleep on! Thanks, Maria
I am enjoying my Unison organic latex mattress...very comfortable. The mattress was delivered promptly and was quite heavy to handle. It was important to me that the mattress be made from ecologically sound materials and did not off-gas. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I received from Mario. Thank you.
We purchased a Unison 10" mattress and our experience with MFC has been excellent. Mario was so quick to answer all my (numerous) questions in multiple emails before we made the purchase, and has followed up with us since to ensure our complete satisfaction. We have enjoyed sleeping on our amazing new mattress for a couple of nights now and we love it. My husband (who has degenerative disc disease) says he is waking without back pain for the first time in months!
I found this company through The Mattress Underground after weeks of online research. I decided to buy the firm mattress and am very happy with it. My back has been feeling better since.
