Supportive. Breathable. Simple.

Supportive

Bridge the gaps. Coir creates a firm, continuous layer over your existing slats, helping prevent the mattress from pushing or sagging into wider spaces between them.

Breathable

Airflow from underneath. The open structure of coconut fibre allows air to circulate beneath the mattress, making coir a better choice than placing your mattress directly on a solid, non-breathable surface.

Low Profile

Support without the height. At only 1" thick, the Coir Bunkie Board improves the support surface without significantly increasing the overall height of your bed.

Natural Coconut Coir

Firm Plant-Based Support

Coir is made from durable fibres found in coconut husks. Compressed into a dense layer, these fibres create a firm support surface while retaining an open structure that allows air to move through.

Its combination of firmness and breathability makes coir particularly useful underneath mattresses.

1" Profile

A Simple Foundation Upgrade

The 1" construction adds very little height to your sleep system. Place it directly over your existing slats to create a more consistent surface underneath the mattress.

There's no bulky box spring or conventional foundation required. All Double, Queen and King pieces are split (2pc)

Open Fibre Construction

Naturally Breathable

Unlike a solid sheet of plywood, coir contains open spaces throughout its fibre structure. This allows air to continue circulating underneath the mattress while providing the additional support needed between bed slats.

Upgrade Your Existing Bed Frame

Better Support Without a New Bed.

A supportive slatted foundation is particularly important for a latex mattress. Slats should be spaced no more than 3" apart, and the width of each slat should be within ½" of the space between them.

If your existing bed frame doesn't meet those requirements, adding a Coir Bunkie Board can bring nearly any otherwise suitable frame up to our mattress support standard without replacing the entire bed.

This also makes it a practical solution for platform beds, older frames and other foundations with slats that are spaced too far apart.
